Some hikes to take (vice vendor names)

Ka’iwa Ridge Hike
Drive north on the Pali Hwy until it crosses Kalani’ana’ole Hwy and becomes Kailua Road.  Continue onto Kailua Road; turn right onto Kalaheo Avenue, crossing the bridge over the canal to Alala Road.  Turn right onto Ka’elepulu Drive. Hike entrance is near the Pacific Country Club.
Distance:  1.3 miles, round-trip
Hiking time:  45 mins.
What makes it good:  The stunning views of Lanikai.

Kuli’ou’ou Valley Hike
Drive east on H-1 until it becomes Kalani’and’ole Hwy, then continue on Kuli’ou’ou Road, turn left and again left onto Kala’au Place.
Distance: 1.4 miles
Hiking time:  45 mins
What makes it good:  It’s a really nice valley stroll…a great hike for a Sunday afternoon.

Kealia Trail
Take Farrington Hwy (Hwy 930) through Wailua to Dillingham airfield.  Park near the airfield’s third gate, marked by a sign for the trailhead.
Distance:  6.2 miles
Hiking time:  About 3 hours
What makes it good:  Lots of switchbacks and good views of the airfield.

Pu’u Pia Trail
Drive mauka (towards the mountains) on East Manoa Road. Turn left onto Alani Drive and right onto Woodland Drive; park alongside the road near the trailhead.
Distance:  1.8 miles
Hiking time:  1 hour
What makes it good: Just being in Manoa Valley!

Kaluanui Ridge Trail (also known as the Mariner’s Ridge Trail)
Take H-1 east until it becomes Kalani’ana’ole Hwy. Turn left onto Keahole Street, which merges into Hawai’i Kai Drive. Turn left onto Kaluanui Road and park on the street.
Distance:  1.5 miles
Hiking time:  45 mins.
What makes it good:  A spectacular view of the windward side of the island.
