Kahana Bay

Surrounded on three sides by the majestic Ko’olau Mountains, Kahana Bay is one of the best-kept secrets of windward O’ahu. Tourists often pass by the bay on the way to other attractions, but few are aware of the scenic treasures that wait inside. If you’re looking for a quiet beach on the island, spend a day at Kahana Beach Park.

The crescent shores of the bay are set against a beautiful backdrop of beach pines and the steep Ko’olau Mountains. The sandy beach is a great spot for sunbathing, and the pine trees provide excellent shade for those hot O’ahu days. Be sure to check out the natural fishpond draining into the Kahana Stream. In the afternoons, the shore around the pond makes a great spot for picnics and barbecues.
